ECP Safeguarding Audit

What does a safeguarding audit involve?

• Pre-audit telephone consultation to agree on priority areas of focus for the audit
• 1 day on site with ECP’s safeguarding consultant gathering evidence
• 1 day producing summary report, action plan and sharing recommendations

ECP SCR AUDIT

Single Central Record (SCR) audit

Our Single Central Record (SCR) audit involves reviewing the records and documentation to ensure that all required safeguarding and recruitment checks have been completed and are in compliance with regulations. The purpose of a SCR audit is to ensure:

• Compliance: To ensure that the setting is following all legal requirements for safeguarding and recruitment checks.
• Safeguarding: To verify that all staff, volunteers, and contractors have been robustly vetted and that their checks are up-to-date.
• Preparation for Inspections: Settings must maintain an SCR that is ready for inspections by regulatory bodies such as Ofsted or ISI.
• Gaps are Identified: To identify any gaps, errors, or omissions in the SCR, ensuring that all necessary checks have been completed and recorded.
