Self esteem is a precious commodity which is essential for healthy development. Children with high self esteem are better able to protect themselves from abuse, are good at building and maintaining relationships and are able to maximise their potential at school.
How can we help children to acquire and maintain self-esteem? How can we boost the confidence of children who will not try for fear of failure and for whom making friends is a near impossibility?
On this half day course we look at some of the reasons for the vulnerability of the child whose self-esteem is low. We focus on practical strategies we can use in our work with children and parents to offer support in this important area.
