This three hour, highly informative course is aimed at nominated governors for Child Protection, but can be customised down as a shorter evening training session for a whole governing body.
In addition to a basic introduction to child protection, we will advise governors on their responsibilities to the school and the governing body, including having an overview of the school’s practice in this important area. A model policy will be provided as part of this training, as well as expectations from OFSTED.
Sue Brent, who has developed this course, carried out all the governor training in child protection for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough last year, and is currently Chair of Governors for a large primary school.
